چکیده
CD157 is a GPI-anchored cell surface glycoprotein expressed by human peripheral blood neutrophils. Cross-linking of CD157 induces intracellular Ca mobilization and re-shaping in neutrophils, thus regulating their adhesive and migratory properties. Results obtained by immunolocalization and confocal microscopy indicate that CD157 lies in close proximity to the CD11b/ CD18 complex which is strongly expressed on the activated neutrophil cell membrane where it plays a predominant role in adhesion. This study analyses the physical association between CD157 and CD18 in human neutrophils by co-immunoprecipitation experiments. The anti-CD157 monoclonal antibody RF3 co-precipitates CD18, and the anti-CD18 antibody TS1/18 co-precipitates CD157 from human neutrophil lysates. These results confirm that CD157 physically interacts with CD11b/CD18 complex in human neutrophils.

Plant-Derived Anti-Inflammatory Compounds: Hopes and Disappointments regarding the Translation of Preclinical Knowledge into Clinical Progress
Many diseases have been described to be associated with inflammatory processes. The currently available anti-inflammatory drug therapy is often not successful or causes intolerable side effects. Thus, new anti-inflammatory substances are still urgently needed. Plants were the first source of remedies in the history of mankind. Since their chemical characterization in the 19th century, herbal bi...
متن کاملAnti-Anaphylactic and Anti-Inflammatory Activities of a Bioactive Alkaloid from the Root Bark of Plumeria acutifolia Poir
In the present study, anti-anaphylactic, anti-inflammatory and membrane stabilizing properties of a lupine alkaloid plumerianine (compound 1), isolated from the root bark of Plumeria acutifolia Poir were investigated in animal models. The anti-anaphylactic activity of compound 1 (10, 25 and 50 mg/Kg) was studied by using models such as passive cutaneous anaphylaxis, passive paw anaphylaxis and ...

AIMS The present study aimed to investigate the potential anti-inflammatory and anti-nociceptive effects of carvacryl acetate, a derivative of carvacrol, in mice. MAIN METHODS The anti-inflammatory activity was evaluated using various phlogistic agents that induce paw edema, peritonitis model, myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity, pro and anti-inflammatory cytokine levels. Evaluation of antinocicep...
متن کاملThe Effect of Capsaicin on Salivary Gland Dysfunction.
Capsaicin (trans-8-methyl-N-vanilyl-6-nonenamide) is a unique alkaloid isolated from hot chili peppers of the capsicum family. Capsaicin is an agonist of transient receptor potential vanilloid subtype 1 (TRPV1), which is expressed in nociceptive sensory neurons and a range of secretory epithelia, including salivary glands. Capsaicin has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties in sensory neur...
